Scanning Electron Micrograph of 10µm diameter polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) pillars cast from a deep-etched silicon master mold. The pillar array was part of a microfluidic device to separate DNA molecules by electropherisis. The pillars are slightly too tall and electrostatic forces cause the elastomeric pillars to bend and touch.
